The .M4B file extension is audiobook file format used by audiobooks downloaded from the Apple iTunes Store. These audiobooks are usually copy-protected using Apple’s FairPlay DRM, which means they can only be played on authorized computers or iPods.
For Amazon Kindle users, if you want to read/play iTunes M4B audiobooks on Kindle Fire HD, you will first have to remove Apple’s FairPlay DRM protection from the file and then convert the non-drm protected M4B audiobook format to Kindle Fire HD compatible MP3, AAC(non-drm), WAV, OGG, etc audio formats.
